Class for the week of March 23-28, 2009

Greetings,

Well, as I promised you, here is a recording and some slides on the passive voice. Please make sure you listen to this before we meet next week. Also make sure that before next week you read the chapter and do ALL of the check questions. We'll be talking about it together next week. If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them next week in class.

Here is the recording on the Passive Voice.

Here are the lecture slides.

Have a great week.

December 1-5

Greetings,
Since I will be away this week, I am leaving these materials for you. The first is a pdf file with slides for a lecture on Adverbs (Lesson 13). The second is a link to download an audio file (mp3). I recorded it in my office to talk through the material with you. It is nothing super exciting, but it should help you with the material. I'll see you next week when I get back.

Web pages

I was looking over some resources that we were given in a course I am taking. Some of them were rather heavy in details. I know there was good information there, but it was rather overwhelming for me (e.g. www.educared.net).

I was rather impressed by http://clic.xtec.net There were a good number of activities that would be good for students to work through on their own.

I also looked at an interesting Latin resource page at http://www.cnice.mecd.es This would be a great page to have students work through to gather information.

Welcome

Greetings to all my students. I am creating this blog as a means of publishing materials that I will be able to use in my classes here at the University of Alicante. I am glad that you have made it to this page and trust that the material you find here will be helpful in your own learning process of English.
